ORHA HALL OF FAME

The ORHA Hall of Fame Award exists to recognize and honor individuals, horses, and contributors

Whose exceptional accomplishments, long-standing dedication, and significant influence have shaped the sport of Reining in Ontario.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest recognition bestowed by the ORHA.

  • 1. Preserve and celebrate the history, heritage, and legacy of reining in Ontario.

    2. Recognize outstanding excellence, leadership, sportsmanship, and contribution to the ORHA.

    3. Inspire future generations by highlighting the achievements of those who built and elevated the sport.

    4. Ensure that major contributions to the Ontario reining community are remembered and honored.

  • Inductees may be recognized in one of the following categories:

     

    a. Individual (Human)

     

    For riders, trainers, breeders, volunteers, officials, or supporters who have demonstrated exceptional influence on the ORHA and the reining industry.

     

    b. Horse

     

    For horses that have achieved exceptional competitive success, contributed significantly to breeding programs, or influenced the development of reining in Ontario.

     

    c. Builder / Contributor

     

    For individuals, families, organizations, or sponsors who have made substantial non-competitive contributions that strengthened the ORHA or expanded reining’s presence in Ontario.

     

  • To be eligible for consideration, nominees must demonstrate:

     

    Long-term involvement: Typically a minimum of 20 years of meaningful contribution.

    Significant impact: Influence on the ORHA’s development, success, or reputation.

    High standards of integrity, sportsmanship, and respect for horses and people.

    Legacy: Contributions that have had a lasting effect on the sport or association.

     

    4.2 Additional Criteria – Individuals

     

    Leadership roles, volunteerism, mentorship, or development of programs.

    Competitive success at the provincial, national, or international level (where applicable).

    Promotion of reining and support of ORHA values.

     

    4.3 Additional Criteria – Horses

     

    Notable show record or breeding influence.

    Contribution to the advancement of reining excellence in Ontario.

    Retired from competition for at least five years (recommended but optional).

     

    4.4 Additional Criteria – Builders/Contributors

     

    Significant financial, organizational, or structural contributions.

    Program, event, or initiative development benefiting the ORHA long-term.
